P.A. Fisker, the founder of Nilfisk-Advance, was an electrical engineer who loved working with electrical motors. Founding the business in 1906, he began to produce motors in order to drive machine tools, coffee grinders, drills and fans. Mr. Fisker's vision from the start was to have an international business marketing products worldwide.

The Nilfisk C1 was a remarkable breakthrough for the cleaning business. This ground breaking vacuum cleaner, invented by Mr. Fisker, weighed just 17.5 kilos and could be operated by one person. This creation came in a time where other cleaning equipment were massive and required at least 4 operators, thus, the Nilfisk C1 transformed everything and evolved the manner we clean forever. The mastermind behind these first cleaning equipment remains unparalleled. Cleaning equipment provide a brilliant solution to an ongoing dilemma; things get dirty and must be cleaned on a regular basis, without too much effort.

Slowly, the company Nilfisk-Advance grew through the years. In the early 1980's the business developed fast when the business became a part of the NKT Group. With new owners on board, they focused on driving Nilfisk-Advance ahead within the industry, aiming to be an active worldwide player in manufacturing professional cleaning machines.
